Lesbian

Komfie Manalo - All Headline News Foreign Correspondent
Sao Paolo, Brazil (AHN) - A Brazilian artist is now facing hot water after
toymaker Mattel threatened to sue her for organizing a photo exhibit depicting
Barbie as a lesbian.
Mattel has given Karin Schwarz 24 hours to close down her exhibit at city of
Curitaba, Brazil or face court action.
But the artist told the Jornal de Sao Paulo she will proceed with her exhibit
entitled, "Amazing Girls," the exhibition is currently being showcased at a bar
in the city.
She said, "Barbie is exploited by Mattel. She wears a bikini, she shows off her
belly, has big breasts, and even has a boyfriend."
A spokesperson for the toy company said, "Barbie is a very proper lady and she
is not happy about being portrayed as something that she isn't. We are going to
sue and we hope that this teaches people a lesson. Also, Barbie is 46 years old,
she should be respected!"

Artist: KSJ (Katharine Star Johnson)
Born: Manhattan, New York 1978
KSJ's Father is Seminole, Indian, African, American, and Eastern European. Her
mother is British/German. While growing up, KSJ spent her formative years
traveling around the world. She has lived in five Continents from China to
Africa, and was exposed to all walks of life. She developed a unique artistic
style in every medium from Fine Art to writing and music; always seeking new
ways of expressing her observations and feelings. After attending 10 schools in
12 years, which were as varied as Le Rosey in Switzerland to San Diego public
school, she attended University in Massachusetts - pursuing a degree in
Political philosophy. She has always included her diverse background and her
exposure to the world in her material and upon completion of her degree
transformed all her information into the art of song writing and performance.
KSJ has material out in Japan and Europe. She has been writing and performing in
London, New York and L.A. for the last 5 years. Although she has completed many
works, she is most proud of the newest project due out in, January of 2007;
Resident Alien.

Cease Fire is the first single of the New Concept Album; Resident Alien. It is a
result of KSJ's observations of London in the time that she has lived there. She
believes the socio-political issues and the cross-cultural nature of the city
raises questions about the time and the world we find ourselves living in. These
issues relate across cultures and countries as they are fundamentally issues of
humanity. KSJ has taken an original perspective and translated her idea of "The
New British Identity" into this project.
KSJ states:
"Cease Fire was born from feelings of frustration as a dual British/American. I
am against terrorism of any form including: British, American, Israeli, Al-Qaeda
or other organizations. Extremism in any form is dangerous - I feel as an artist
I must use my art to speak of the sanctity of human life. I don't want my
children to emerge in a world propelled into a new fascism created by misguided
attempts to end terrorism."
